The Bideford Fair, The Mayor’s Parade and The Cream Tea Festival

Saturday 6 June 2026 10am – 4pm Victoria Park, Bideford

Enjoy a day of celebration across the town, bringing together local traditions, entertainment, and activities for all ages.

The day begins with the much-anticipated Sheep Drive across Bideford’s historic Old Bridge, organised by the Institute of Weavers and Shearers. This is followed by a flyboarding acrobatics display on the River Torridge, before the Mayor and Civic Party Procession makes its way through the town.

The celebrations then continue, with the main event taking place in Victoria Park, where a full programme of activities will run throughout the day.

A varied programme of events will be taking place, including:

  • Traditional Sheep Drive
  • Flyboarding acrobatics display
  • The Mayor’s Parade in the Park
  • Welly Wanging competition
  • Morris dancing, live music and choir performances
  • Exmoor Zoo Encounter Zone
  • Performances from Louisa Hockin Dance School
  • Community Fun Dog Show
  • Donkey meet and greet
  • Steam train rides
  • A wide range of local business and charity stalls

Cream Tea Festival Launch

The day will also mark the official launch of the Bideford Cream Tea Festival, celebrating the best of a traditional Devon cream tea.

Hosted in a grand marquee, visitors will be able to enjoy a selection of freshly baked scones – including plain, fruit, and gluten-free options – prepared and provided by Scone When It’s Scone.


Baking Competition

As part of the festival, a Baking Competition will be held, with categories for both professional and amateur bakers.

Participants are invited to download the entry form in advance and bring their bakes to the marquee by 11:00am on the day for judging. Entry forms can also be collected from the Bideford Town Council Portakabin, Riverbank House, Bideford EX39 2QG.


Family Activities

There will be plenty for families and younger visitors to enjoy throughout the day, including bouncy castles, go-karts, zorbs, sumo suits, and a variety of games and activities.
