H. Lane - Horologist and Watch Repairs
Horology is the science and art of measuring time. Clocks, watches, clockwork, sundials, timers, time recorders and marine chronometers are all examples of instruments used to measure time.
I am able to repair or renovate most any watches, clocks and time chronometers. My skill set range from time pieces needing light cleaning, oiling and maintenance to more comprehensive repairs such as replacing broken wheels, damaged or worn pivots, replacement of tired springs and wear and tear to main plates.
- Oiling & Cleaning
- Setting Grandfather Clocks & Long Clocks
I can source, when available, or manufacture replacement parts for specific brands as required.
I also have a selection of time pieces and antique jewelry in store for that special gift or memorable occasion! I offer a personal, qualified, experienced and secure repair service.Simple watch repairs may take a day or two, but a full watch service, takes considerably longer. For modern watches estimate about four weeks and for antique watch repairs eight weeks. For some brands, where the only source of spares is another continent, or where complex parts must be made, it can take longer still. A simple inquiry should let you know how long repairs will take to complete.
For complex repairs please make an appointment to discuss costing.
Some of the things I can repair:
