032 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

033 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Councillors Brenton, Christie, Fulford, Pester and Wootton declared a personal interest in agenda item 5.k. (The land is currently part owned by the Town Council).

034 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION SESSION

Three members of the public spoke individually on agenda item d; (Application No 1/0691/2012/OUT: Residential development to provide 91 dwellings with associated works; with access, parking, garages, estate road, bridge, play space, public open space and landscaping.  Venn, Mines Road, Bideford, EX39 4BZ.) and raised the following issues:
•This application covers a larger area than previous applications and now encompases an attractive wooded valley and stream.  The proposal is to develop the side of the valley and just leave the stream through the middle.  It was requested that the developers build on the attached fields rather than the wooded valley and leave this as an open area for residents and wildlife.
•Concerns with access to the new development were raised.  It was generally felt that a single access road through an existing housing estate, where young children play in the street is unacceptable.  In addition this will cause a lot of extra mileage as it will involve a circuitous route to the new estate. The road through Ayres Close was not designed for this level of traffic.
•Overdevelopment of the area.
