Report

Item 14.

Bideford Town Council is in support of producing a Neighbourhood Plan. (Notice of Motion put forward by Councillor David Brenton). The Town Clerk has looked into the availability of grants and spoken to a representative from “My Community” about the process. The first step will be to have the area designation made and to confirm this with the District Council. The grant application can then be made, and Maria Bailey Planning has offered to assist the Town Clerk with the application. The deadline for spending funds from the current round of grants is March 2018, which would not be realistic. There will however be a new tranche of grants in 2018, and so it is recommended that the preparatory work is put in place, in order to apply for a grant in 2018. It is proposed that the area to be designated is the Parish of Bideford.
