Minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Bideford on Wednesday 8 August 2012 at 6.00 pm

025 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

026 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Councillor Langmead declared that as both a Town and District Councillor that he will reconsider the applications at District level, taking into account all relevant evidence.
Councillor Brenton declared a personal interest in item 6.k. of the agenda (Council representative on Board of Bideford Bay Children’s Centre) both a personal and prejudicial interest in item 6.g. (wife of applicant).
Councillor Christie declared a personal interest in item 6.k. of the agenda (Chairman of the Bridge Trust).
Councillor Langmead declared a personal interest in agenda item 6.k. (Bridge Trust member).
Councillor Wootton declared a personal interest in agenda item 6.k. (Council representative on Home Start) and agenda item 6.i. (acquainted with the applicant).
Councillor Pester declared a personal interest in agenda item 6.k. (Bridge Trust Member).

The Minutes of the Meeting held on 18 July 2012 were approved and signed as a correct record.

029 DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT RE ATLANTIC ARRAY OFFSHORE WIND FARM

After a detailed discussion the Committee decided that a letter should be written to Torridge District Council and RWE Npower Renewables to explain that Bideford Town Council had the following concerns:
•    That the Council would need more details on the effect on shipping for this area and the port of Bideford.
•    What spin off jobs would be created to sustain the local community of Bideford?
•    Is there an organised and robust de-commissioning policy for the future in place?
•    That any environmental impact is minimised around Bideford.
