New Market Traders Information

New traders are always welcome and stalls can be hired on a casual / one off basis to test your business ideas or on a more permanent basis with much lower overheads than a conventional shop. The stalls are permanently there, so no dismantling or packing away is required, except for special events and we have  security cameras for increased safety.  The Market Officer, Mr Gurler, is in attendance Tuesdays to Saturdays to help with any queries and general maintenance is also available on site.

There is overhead heating for very cold weather and the total capacity in the Pannier Market Hall is 45 stalls and 18 trestle tables. Proof of liability insurance is required for all stall holders (please note the Taster Insurance details below).

Please contact Richard Coombes about your details. We will ask you to provide a short description of your busines in two or three paragraphs - a logo or photograph - and contact details such as telephone number, email address or website.

.** NEW ** The Market Management Committee have recently purchased 125 days of "Market Trader Taster" Insurance - this is with a view to helping those hobbyists or potential Market Traders to enjoy ten days of coverage at a nominal price. The Cheme is run by the National Market Traders Federation which means that a casual stall on a Saturday could cost as little as £5 stall rental with just £2 public liability insurance.  The Scheme is run by the National Market Traders Federation.
Those interested need to contact the Deputy Town Clerk for further details but please give at least 3 days before the date of trading.
