Bideford 500 was born out of a smaller Pilot Project which was developed and supported by a group of like minded people and brought to life by Pauline Smith, a local researcher and writer. The particular focus of Pauline’s work, and indeed the continuing work of Bideford 500 being delivered over the next two years, is on the last 500 years of the town’s history and heritage.

Bideford Bay Creatives
Bideford Bay Creatives are a not-for-profit group of creative practitioners, established in July 2009. Practitioners include visual artists, crafts people, musicians and performers who are based in the Bideford area and who wish to raise their profile, whilst creating opportunities for the local community (people, businesses, voluntary groups, arts and non-arts organisations) to host events and activities and get involved with the arts.

We are building up a selection of useful sites for visitors and local residents alike - if you have any suggestions as to sites you may think should be represented please get in contact with us and provide the URL (web address) so we can consider inclusion in our listings. We will be placing particular emphasis on sites that provide information about our town and the region and we would love to hear from community groups, artist and musician initiatives and anybody planning interesting and worthwhile events.
