The Minutes of the meeting held on 2 June 2010 were approved and signed as a correct record.

013    PLANNING APPLICATIONS

a.    Application No 1/0450/2010/FUL:  Two storey extension to existing domestic property. – 18 Lane Field Road, Bideford EX39 3QY. -  Applicant: Mr M Pooley (same address)  (Date received:  27 May 10)

RESOLVED:  That the application is refused on the grounds that the extension would be overbearing, there would be a degree of overlooking, and loss of light.

RESOLVED:  That although the Council is not opposed to the installation of the multi-fuel stove and fireplace it would insist upon a conventional chimney where the materials match those of the existing wall.

RESOLVED:  That the application is refused on the grounds of the proximity of the industrial estate, the associated commercial activity and the potential noise problems.  The Council is against a gated community as shown on the plan and would also note that there is no provision for renewable energy sources.

j.    Application No 1/0525/2010/FUL:  Residential development comprising five dwellings. – Land at Chubb Road, Bideford. -  Applicant: Corloe Construction Ltd, 17 Ford Rise, Bideford EX39 5GB (Date received:  16 Jun 10)

RESOLVED:  That the application is refused on the grounds of overdevelopment of the site which will lead to overlooking and access issues as access is via housing for the elderly and frail.  The Council is extremely concerned that the houses are out of context with the existing house type and tenant.
